in the Barind Region" is an account of changing economic life of
the tribals, most whom long been settled in Bangladesh. The author
through his systematic training in Anthropology and International
Development has presented the changing economic condition as well
as socio-economic problems of the tribals and an urgency of a
separate Tribal Development Plan for their development. The
students of social sciences, especially, Anthropology and
Development Studies along with the practitioners of both the
Government and non-governmental organizations in Bangladesh, civil
society and the communities/tribals itself will be benefited out of
the endeavour of the author. The book contains some empirical
insights/cases as well as directions which helps understand the
problems of tribals in the Barind region of Bangladesh especially.
Any error or unconscious mistake in the book is treated as the
