The "Encyclopedia of Mexico" presents a processual view of Mexican
history, society and culture from ancient civilizations to the
present day. The primary emphasis is on broad historiographic
issues, although the encyclopedia includes many supplementary
entries on people and specific events. The encyclopedia provides
students, academics, librarians and the general reader with
convenient access to basic bibliographic and factual data on
specific events and broad processes in Mexican history. It promotes
scholarly dialogue across disciplinary and national borders and
provides a useful component for multi-disciplinary courses on
Mexico. This two-volume encyclopedia contains some 600 entries and
represents a collaborative effort that has involved more than 350
leading scholars from around the world.
