Penny Parker is the heroine of a series of mystery stories written
by Mildred Wirt, who went on to write the Nancy Drew Series.
However, she preferred Penny Parker to Nancy Drew, her obituary
reported her saying 'I always thought Penny Parker was a better
Nancy Drew than Nancy is.' Penny Parker was a high school student
who worked for her father's newspaper from time to time. Her mother
had died and so she was raised by the housekeeper, Mrs. Weems. This
is a great collection of enjoyable young adult mysteries, the tales
offer entertainment for young and old alike and transport up to a
world that was simpler and more innocent.
