Fabulous conclusion to an awesome series

“Pecca Gallegos never thought she’d be turning down a marriage proposal—much less four of them.” - Opening lines of Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters
Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters is the end of the Harbored Secrets series and it’s a fabulous conclusion to an awesome romantic suspense series. Pecca is a character I have enjoyed from the start and it was lovely to spend time understanding her better. Terrified of her past, when it comes to haunt her, the small town of Walton rises up to protect her.
Colton has just arrived in town and finds himself in the midst of Pecca’s trouble and drawing on his training as an intelligence agent to find out who is behind it and protect her and her son.
The mystery is compelling and the story moves along swiftly as Colton and Pecca defend themselves against multiple attacks from their unknown assailant. In the midst of the suspense is wonderful humour, light moments as these great characters connect. Natalie knows how to write people you wish you could be friends with in real life.
I related to Colton’s journey with his painful physical disability and Natalie does a phenomenal job of walking in his shoes, capturing the emotions one feels perfectly. I love how she works each difficulty encountered by her characters through the lens of faith sharing encouragement and hope.
Pecca’s siblings weave into the story and a great edition! I would thoroughly enjoy more time with this family! Whilst this series has drawn to a close, I look forward to reading more from Natalie Walters in the future! This one is highly recommended and a five out of five on the enJOYment scale.
