In 1885, Finnius Locke invented the Anima Obscura, a unique camera
intended to capture the old west before it was gone. But the camera
captured much more. For more than a hundred years, it has traveled
throughout the country, capturing the souls of those it
photographed, leaving thousands dead and giving rise to the belief
that cameras steal the souls of those it photographs. Within these
pages are the pictures and stories of the people the Anima Obscura
has enslaved and tormented in its wake.
