Located near a cold water spring, the site grew and became popular during the Trajanic period as part of Trajan's great building programme, going into decline from the 3rd century AD onwards. This volume comprises fourteen thematic chapters which look at different aspects of the site and findings from the excavations, including: the springs of Chianciano Terme; historical investigations in the region; geophysical survey; excavation; brickstamps; material culture; plant remains, fauna; human remains. Text is in English and Italian.
