The role of the Parole Board for England and Wales is to make risk
assessments to inform decisions on the release and recall of
prisoners with the ultimate aim of protecting the public and
successfully reintegrating prisoners into the community. This
annual report and accounts reviews a year in which there were 7,528
parole applications received and 19,402 cases handled.
