The stories are mostly based on the writings of Aesop, the brothers Grimm and La Fontaine, while some have their origins in African countries or North America. Chaucer the Cat starts the journey with a story about a cat and a mouse which explains why the two were never meant to get on. Other animals join in the story-telling, including the dog, the tortoise and many others. One of the best stories is The Spider and the Turtle, which has the moral: never try and trick anyone, they will always get their own back on you!
