This book argues that a leadership crisis in America is evident
in the failure of the past three presidents and their Congresses to
meet four challenges: the proliferation of nuclear weapons; out of
control immigration; judicial activism; and the increasingly
bizarre means by which we choose presidential candidates - politics
as entertainment - in which self-nominated amateurs who look and
sound good on television can reach the White House.
The Iranian crisis and the dangers of Vladimir Putin's return to
the Russian presidency are explored within the context of nuclear
proliferation. The book recommends term limits and age limits for
federal judges and members of Congress, and sensible new rules for
primary elections and nominating conventions, as well as reforms
that will provide experienced, peer-reviewed candidates for
president.
The Tea Party and other citizens' movements are responding to
the ongoing crises, but the political class is not. This book
examines the four crises and offers remedies based on the
Constitution, traditional values, and common sense.
