Twelve-year-old Elijah is sure there are no demons nor bad spirits
in the cave of bats. However, his Shona friend Thambu is positive
that his uncle died of a curse from the "Messengers of Death".
Elijah is determined to prove that his death was due to
tuberculosis so he decides that he and Thambu are going to visit
