For nearly twenty years Peter White has been the leading acoustic
guitarist on contemporary smooth jazz scene. Not just a talented
musician, White demonstrates that he's also an accomplished
composer on this new album of all-original songs.
White is joined by "DC", the versatile
keyboardist/programmer/songwriter who has produced and/or
collaborated with a variety of contemporary jazz artists in recent
years, and keyboardist/producer Philippe Saisse, an accomplished
solo artist in his own right who has helped to re-shape the careers
of Rick Braun, Marc Antoine and Gato Barbieri, among many
others.
Born in the UK, Peter White first made his name working with Al
Stewart in the studio in the making of Year of the Cat, which
became a huge hit for Stewart in 1976. This marked the beginning of
a twenty-year association with Stewart and resulted in White making
his home in the USA.
After fifteen years as a backup musician and a session player
working with artists like the Polish vocalist Basia, White launched
his solo recording career with the 1990 release of Reveillez-Vous
The album included several unused songs that White had written for
Stewart, and it became a favourite among contemporary jazz radio
stations.
White made several albums for Sony and these were heavily
promoted in the UK with frequent appearances at the Pizza Express
Jazz Club and other venues.
