CHALLENGE Roy Graham, an outdoor survival expert, is hired to take
a team of managers on an outdoor challenge instead of the usual
management retreat. The President of the Company is concerned that
if his management staff does not learn how to work together more
effectively that a major company project will fail. The management
team is dropped off on the Brady Glacier in Southeastern Alaska and
plan to travel across the glacier, climb over a range of mountains
and descend a glacier to Lituya Bay to be picked up. The first
person to die on the trip is the president of the company in what
appears to be a fluke accident. (All deaths in the story are based
on the author's experiences in climbing and mountain rescue
activities.)
