Low-budget horror directed by Jack Messitt. At a rundown cinema in
a quiet suburban town, a group of teenagers attend the midnight
screening of a 1970s cult horror film, unaware that the film's
director and star escaped from a psychiatric ward five years
earlier and are on the loose. As the midnight movie begins, the
kids heckle its old black-and-white scenes - but they are brought
up with a jolt when the killer appears to butcher one of their
friends onscreen. They soon realise that they are locked inside the
theatre with only the crazed killer for company.
