IMPACT is a story about the lasting effect rape has on women, three
women in particular. There's Marianne, who loses the baby she's
carrying and is left barren because of the rape. There's Lisa, who
runs away from home to escape a pedophile and is working toward a
degree in journalism. Zoe is the wife of the rapist. Because of the
rape, their lives become intertwined.
Although the individual stories are the thrust of the book, the
development of their strengths and weaknesses makes each character
come alive.
The purpose of this book is to bring a sense of satisfaction to
the many women throughout the world who have been attacked, whether
by family members or complete strangers. I believe IMPACT will have
universal appeal to all women, even those who have never been
physically abused.
