Orphaned at a young age, DR. ALEXIS MURPHY, a beautiful Caribbean Marine Biologist, struggles to raise DEREK, her 13-year-old brother. When her estranged grandfather PIRATE JIM dies, a drunken pirate who claims that Sea Dragons are killing people, she inherits his belongings: a twelve-inch tooth, a rusty key, a silver coin and an old map. The only thing Alexis accepts is the tooth. She leaves everything else behind. Derek takes the envelope holding the other items, pursuing his own ideations of long lost treasure foretold to him by his grandfather. Alexis sets off to find out what marine animal can have a 12-inch tooth and is shocked to find only an ancient breed of extinct dinosaurs. Alexis notices an increase in shark attacks, shark sightings, and whale beachings as she investigates claims of so-called Sea Dragons attacking humans and other sea life. Derek, on the other hand, finds out that his grandfather s map is real and that it points to a potential treasure. Derek begs Alexis to take him to the site of the map to see if there is, in fact, a treasure. When Alexis and Derek set off to search for the treasure, they find a chest. The chest contains hundreds of silver coins, making Alexis and Derek rich beyond words, and some old movie reels showing the capture and relocation of the Loch Ness Monsters. Their estranged grandfather has left them scientific proof and a sizeable inheritance, which means that Alexis can now continue investigating the truth behind the Sea Dragon legend. Alexis contacts one of her old professors, DR. ALLAN HAYES, and mentions a bite mark she found on a whale. The dimensions are unheard of, and Dr. Hayes tells her that if this news weren t coming from her, he would not believe it. He then recommends that she contact a Crypto-zoologist, DR. MICHAEL DAVID. Michael is intrigued and travels to meet with Alexis. The two discover that there is a Sea Dragon. It is an ELASMOSAUR
