Stevenson was as great a revelation as stumbling across Wilkie
Collins. This is the story of David Balfour, a Highland Whig, on
the run through Scottish Highlands in the company of one of the
great heroes of all time - Alan Breck, the Jacobite. It does what
Ian McEwan always says fiction should do - shows rather than tells.
