Mia Farrow stars as Rosemary, a young wife whose husband, an actor,
falls in with a group of Satanists. When Rosemary becomes pregnant,
she begins to suspect that she may be carrying the child of the
Devil. Director Roman Polanski caused controversy by giving a real
life Satanist a part in the film's rape scene, and the self same
man became implicated in the Manson murders which killed his wife
Sharon Tate a year later.

Oooh. This is an excellent horror movie. I'm a horror-buff and this came highly recommended by several horror websites so I instantly bought it (it was cheap, too!)
I was utterly bored the first 50 minutes of the film, nothing happened - just a story about a couple who are going to have a baby and their nosy neighbours who have far too much of an interest in the pregnancy - I thought the people who recommended this film must have been crazy and I almost turned it off.
But then the good (scary) stuff started happening and the boring, preceeding 50 minutes were actually vital to what has been building up as a masterpiece in horror filmmaking. The film is directed by Roman Polanski - he also made the recent excellent "Ghost Writer" and there is nothing else to say but that this is filmmaking of the highest order, at least when it comes to horror movies.
Be warned, though - it takes some time for the story to unfold and fans of contemporary horror films such as "Saw" or "Boogeyman" might need some patience to enjoy it. As a horror fan I HIGHLY recommend this.
