1928. This life of Emily Jane Bronte is based chiefly upon the
internal evidence of her poems, most of which Mr. C.W. Hatfield
arranged in chronological order. This life does not purport to be a
last word upon Emily Jane Bronte's history. Mr. Wilson states he
did not know all the events by any means which befell her, not
absolutely the order of those he recorded. He knew the main lines
of her character, the most important part of her history.
