Climbing food, fertiliser and mineral prices as well as the Arab
oil embargo in the seventies had severe economic consequences in
developing countries. Originally published in 1976, this study
explores the effects of these developments in the fourth world and
how they can adjust to an international economy with a particular
focus on resource availability in terms of energy and agriculture.
