Master sleuth Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) is hired by the wealthy widow Lady Margaret (Mary Forbes) and her son Roland Carstairs (Geoffrey Steele) to prevent the theft of an enormous diamond known as the "Star of Rhodesia."
