March 1941. Commodore John Braithwaite, retired British Royal Navy
intelligence agent, leaps at the opportunity to return to the
field. German Military Intelligence (Abwehr) discovers that the
American atomic physicist Dr. Enrico Verdi, will travel to Africa
aboard the Egyptian liner S.S. Zamzam and places an agent aboard
hoping that Verdi will reveal a suspected atomic research facility.
J. Edgar Hoover sends FBI agents to accompany Verdi, but London
proposes placing Braithwaite aboard to watch over the scientist.
