Using it as external drive for it will be match fast to back the entire drive up by removing it from the external drive casing and backing it up inside the computer.It now stays connected to the computer where my spinning external drive had to be removed so to extend its live when backup was done for the day.There are cheaper 500gb but found Western Digital not to work with my external casing besides the reviews are grate on this product.
