The ancient world revered Sappho's poetry. Today, her work survives
only in fragments. Canada's poet laureate, Bliss Carman loved those
fragments. In the late Victorian Era, Carman cemented together
Sappho's verses with his own poetry. The result is a sensual,
musical, erotic and ravishing literary mosaic.
