Lydia tells her side of her marriage to the notorious petty
criminal, Henry Tufts (1748 - 1831). She bore him six children and
raised 5 of them at a time when women could not own property, vote,
or have much to say about circumstances of their own lives.
Language used is Lydia's, as is her opinion of things that affect
her life. Her story, as imagined by the author, should interest her
descendents, because not much has ever been written about her.
