This is the first monograph in English dedicated to a prominent
Mexican interior designer. The book's visual narrative provides
both a peripheral and intimate view of the designer and her work.
The peripheral side features aerial images of locations from the
various countries where Sofia has successfully developed multiple
projects. Additionally, these pictures are accompanied by quotes
from Sofia about her work, her creative process, and her
inspirations. The intimate perspective will be introduced with five
booklets (on different paper, with a lighter weight and measuring
22.5x32cm) inserted throughout the book. These will portray Sofia's
inner and outer world, her country (Mexico) and the people and
artisans she works with, as well as offering a glimpse into the
'making of' process (Sofia's careful attention to details, her
serious commitment and full involvement with her team and
production process) and the backstage thinking that inspires the
ideas that lead to the final design outcome. The projects will be
showcased one after another, with a bold and innovative design,
alternating with the aerial photos (peripheral view) and the
booklets (intimate view).
