Solal’s SPF 30 is a broad-spectrum (UVA + UVB) sun protection facial cream suitable for all skin types. It is silky to the touch and leaves a matt appearance, the ideal base-layer for make-up application.

While the public is educated regarding the dangers of sunlight, findings in recent years indicate that we have yet to explore the full spectrum of benefits and adverse effects related to sun exposure.
One of the latest striking scientific discoveries is that skin damaged by high energy visible (HEV) blue/violet light (400-500nm), may be as harmful as the damage caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) created from UVA + UVB combined. Studies conducted to evaluate the effect of HEV light on skin demonstrate damage to the dermal and epidermal layers. Damage is associated with the generation of free radicals and induction of oxidative stress, which could indirectly cause DNA damage and gene activation of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) enzymes known to degrade the dermal fibre network resulting in premature photo-aging, uneven pigmentation and photosensitivity disorders. As DNA absorbs UVB rays it causes damage, while UVA, like HEV light, seems to be another “silent long-term aging wavelength”.
