Under Siege (DVD)

Amerian battleship USS Missouri is soon to be de-commissioned, and is on her final voyage from Hawii to California. Captain Adams (Patrick O'Neill) has requested CPO Casey Ryback to prepare a special meal in honour of his birthday the following day. This arouses the ire of Executive Officer Commander Krill (Busey) who has already arranged for food and entertainment to be brought from Hawaii by helicopter after they have set out to sea. It becomes immediately apparent that Rybeck and Krill dislike each other intensely... but the entertainment party eventually does arrive... under the leadership of one William Strannix - an ex-CIA agent - whose intention it is to take command of the ship and commandeer all the weapons on board!

But is Ryback simply the ship's cook he claims to be?

Yes, there is action a-plenty, with a trim-looking Segal initiating the honours. Tommy Lee Jones plays his part almost for laughs, while glowering Gary Busey - in a dislikeable role - is very good indeed (although this is far removed from his Oscar-nominated Buddy Holly portrayal in The Budy Holly Story of a few years back. But unfortunately "Playboy Playmate Miss July '89" Jordan Tate (Erika Eleniak) never does get to do her thing of jumping out of the captains birthday cake!!

It's not a ]ob. It's an adventure! Steven Seagal comes aboard and comes on strong in a fireball of a movie.

When the USS Missouri welcomes aboard entertainers for the battleship's last voyage, the visitors throw a party. A war party.

Led by a rogue CIA operative and a turncoat officer, they're killer-elite commandos out to hijack the ship's nuclear arsenal. They overpower the crew. Except one man. "I'm just a cook," that man says. But he's a cook with a recipe for action. He's ex-Navy SEAL and decorated combat operative Casey Ryback.

All hands on deck, action fans!
