Welcome to a future where talking with everyone has become the next
big thing, and the over use of electronic communication has
rendered an entire generation mute. With the voices of the young
silenced, laws are passed requiring every muted person to create a
new status update on government approved social media site every
few hours in order to keep communication alive. But things are not
at all as they same. And god protect you if you break the rules...
This is where Icarus08 finds himself. A young man suffering from
insomnia, he spends his nights searching for meaning in a world
where everything you could ever want is just a click away, and
where his own father is an agent of everything he finds himself
hating. Everything changes though when he meets the mysterious
Chemical_Queen, a girl who lives on the edge of a cyber-society
that has no boundaries, and will make you face every secret you've
held dear... Status Update Required is a story about the ever
evolving role technology plays in our lives taken to a frightening
extreme. It follows two characters whose lives have been affected
by their world in startling ways, and the friendship that forms
between them. It asks the question; just how different are we from
our online profiles, and what happens when the real world and cyber
world collide?
