Abe Fortas (1910-1982) was an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme
Court from 1965 to 1969. This release consists of several types of
investigations between 1964 and 1975, including a special inquiry
into Fortas' suitability for appointment to the Supreme Court,
allegations that Fortas obstructed justice in a Securities and
Exchange Commission investigation, and threats of violence against
him. Some information in these documents may have been redacted for
security purposes.
