Tom Hanks stars as Scott Turner, a compulsively neat detective whose tidy world goes to the dogs when he's forced to team up with a drooling slob of a junkyard dog named Hooch. Not exactly man's best friend, Hooch turns Turner's life upside down, wrecking Turner's home, career and budding romance. It's a hilarious non-stop test of wills between this mismatched duo, leading to the most unlikely friendship you've ever seen.

Turner & Hooch

Although released by Walt Disney Studios: yes, this is a Tom Hanks picture! He plays the part of fanatically neat detective inspector Scott Turner; and its only fair to tell you that Hooch (Beasley) is not a person, but a large and very slobbery dog of an actual rare French breed known as Dog De Bordeaux.
A friend of Scotts, junkyard owner Amos Reed (John McIntyre) is murdered, and it appears that only Hooch witnessed the crime! Scott takes him home, only to have the energetic dog promptly destroy Turner's house, his car, and turns his life upside-down. On a positive note, however, Hooch also instigates a romance between Turner and the new town veterinarian Emily Carson (Mare Winningham). Scott has to battle with his superior, Chief Howard Hyde ( Craig T Nelson) to remain on the case, and he is nearly replaced by fellow investigator, detective David Sutton (Reginal VeJohns).
Highly entertaining, and very funny in parts, this isn't quite a five-star movie. But it's close...very close! I recommend it!
