Erika Timm is the first scholar in Germany to be appointed to a
chair of Yiddish Studies. This festschrift is a token of gratitude
for the unusual research and teaching commitment displayed by this
highly revered scholar. The volume encompasses articles in German,
English and Yiddish on medieval and post-medieval Yiddish language
and literature.
