Should stand the test of time

This book is not an easy read. Those looking for an entertaining Lacanian-themed book along the lines of Žižek are strongly advised to look elsewhere. I can only recall a single reference to popular culture. It was about Micheal Jackson and appeared in a brief footnote.
But for those looking for a rigorous articulation of Lacanian theory, particularly his use of Aristotle and contemporary logic as the basis for his misunderstood notion of sexual difference, this is the book for you. The author will bring you deep into the weeds, artfully navigating you through the paradoxical twists and turns of Lacan's paradoxical thought. I know of no other book that makes such a sustained effort to explain his formulas of sexuation and thus feel it will fast become the go-to reference book for how to properly read these formulas.
I also believe it makes an important contribution by linking Lacanian discourse theory and topology back to the logic of sexuation. Yet since each of these two areas are discussed separately towards the end of the book, anyone primarily interested in just these topics are likely to find their discussions as rewarding as I found those surrounding sexuation, which was the main reason I picked up this book.
