Chuck - Season 1 (DVD, Boxed set)

This fun-filled spy adventure is a refreshing addition to the roster of "must see" television series'. It revolves around a Computer technician (ie. a nerd, honestly. He even works for the Nerd Herd). He accidentally "dowloads" a hard-drive's worth of sensitive images to his brain, and now the CIA and the NSA decide to use his knowledge on missions as there is no original copy of those images.

Zachary Levi plays our hero, and he does a stellar job of being somewhat "geeky" at times as well as being able to switch between sweetly humorous and hilariously sarcastic at times. His handlers are played by newcomer Yvonne Strahovski (a hottie agent who provides the love interest and plays his cover as a girlfriend) and Adam Baldwin (a veteran agent who has a short fuse, and rarely sees eye-to-eye with Chuck). Chuck has to maintain a semblance of a normal life, so he has to remain at his job at Buy More selling electrical equipment, which leads to most in-opportune hi-jinx.

The premise of the show might seem outlandish, but once you get over the hurdle of how Chuck becomes so valuable, you're in for a wild romp as Chuck constantly tries to help but usually causes more trouble than anything else. There are only 13 episodes in this series, due to the writer's strike at the time of production. So rest assured that season 2 will be even bigger and better. (4 out of 5, by Carlisle Johnson)

They'll try to keep him safe by trading in his pocket protector for a bulletproof vest.
