the globe. It is part coffee-table book, part travelogue, part
autobiography and part storybook, with a bit of philosophy thrown
in for good measure. Its a great photographer, documenter and
character looking back through his ever-increasing archive (built

the wonderful, the cosmic even. And he doesnt just take pictures;
he also meticulously records it all in words. His descriptions are
often as intriguing, as beautiful or as crazy as his photographs.

This book presents an extensive review of the context and an
analysis of the market for clean energy technologies, with
batteries as the primary case study. The focus of this book is on
clean energy technology and in particular, on renewable energy and
portable, mobile and stationary battery and energy supply. The
authors examine how effectively countries with large and advanced
economies are building and coaxing the markets needed to
effectively mitigate environmental risk. The analysis takes a
country-level perspective of some of the largest and most
technologically advanced economies in the world including China,
France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom and the United
States. The authors explore the measures being taken to foster
markets that effectively reduce environmental risk, increase its
resilience and even its recovery. In the concluding chapter, the
authors suggest that while the market for environmental risk
mitigation remains nascent, the possibility for its rapid
development is high. A number of market coaxing mechanisms to
promote its more rapid development are proposed. The book will be
of interest to researchers, policy makers, business strategists,
and academics in the fields of political science and business
management.
This book begins the discourse on post-trial access to drugs in
developing countries. Underlying ethical issues in global health
inequalities and global health research serve as the context of the
debate. Due to rampant allegations of violations of rights of
research participants, especially in developing countries, it
discusses the regulatory infrastructure and ethical oversight of
international clinical research, thus emphasizing the priority of
safeguarding the rights of research participants and host
populations as desiderata in conducting clinical trials in
developing countries. This is the first book that analyzes the
major obstacles of affordable access to drugs in developing
countries - patent and non-patent factors and how they can be
overcome through a middle ground approach and a new paradigm to
establish global health justice which includes national and global
health responsibilities. The book also deals extensively with all
complex aspects of the discourse on affordable access to drugs in
developing countries, including intellectual property law,
international regulations, political and cultural systems,
international trade agreements. Furthermore it contains a robust
ethical debate and in-depth analysis. The book crafts a paradigm of
global health justice involving a sliding scale of national and
global responsibilities for the realization of the right to health
in general and access to drugs in particular.
