Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

Since 1995 The 24 Hour Plays have been responding to theatre in the
moment. As the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic brought an end to live
theatre in the USA and Europe, the company sprang to work to keep
the arts alive. Bringing together some of America's most prolific
writers for the stage and screen, this unique and contemporary book
of monologues collates the responses in dramatic fashion, making
for an anthology of work that is timely, moving, irreverent and at
its best, transcendent. Featuring original monologues by writers
such as David Lindsay-Abaire, Clare Barron, Hansol Jung, Stephen
Adly Guirgis, Christoper Oscar Pena, Jesse Eisenberg and Monique
Moses this is a rich collection that can be enjoyed by actors,
writers and those looking for creative responses to the global
COVID-19 crisis. With over 50 monologues from the first three weeks
of the project, edited by Howard Sherman, this is an important
collection that documents an unprecedented moment in history whilst
also offering practical resource for actors and performers.

that can haunt him or her, or provide salvation.
During WW II the Command and General Staff Colleges primary mission
was to train large numbers of captains and majors to be staff
officers in battalions, brigades, divisions, and corps. To that
end, the Army provided copies of documents produced by field units
to the College. Operations orders, after action reports,
intelligence analyses, logistics appraisals, and similar documents
are in the Combined Arms Research Library documents collection. The
primary focus was documenting operations at the tactical and
operational levels of warfare. This is one of those documents.

It was meant to be a summer holiday job, an opportunity to learn
something of the field of mental illness and in the beginning,
Jenny Wycroft, a young medical student, became accustomed to the
odd behaviour, the bizarre mannerisms and proclivities of the
residents. She confessed to an element of uneasiness working with
the disturbed and unpredictable but when one of the inmates
disclosed to her the details of a long-forgotten murder, Jenny was
uncertain how to proceed. Perhaps the patient's senses were
presenting her with a false world. Then again, perhaps the truth
had surfaced after all these years. When Jenny discussed the story
with a nurse, Pietra Calvina, who had also been party to the
strange allegations, they decided to make tentative and discreet
enquiries in order to test the veracity of the tale. The can of
worms had been opened. Their interest in the story had not gone
unnoticed and as they ignored warnings to desist from the
investigation, their lives were put in mortal danger
