Nelle parti pianeggianti delle ex cave, circondate dai terrapieni con le nuove foreste, possono realizzarsi edifici che aderiscono ad un progetto contemporaneo di mixite: un progetto legato alla produzione, trasformazione e commercializzazione del legname, ma anche ad un insieme di altre attivita. Al vecchio ciclo inquinante del cemento, delle cave e dei rifiuti in discarica, si sostituisce il nuovo ciclo del legno e dei rifiuti differenziati e questo determina economia, energia e progetto. "Foreste Urbane" analizza e riassume i dati della situazione delle cave, presenta interventi internazionali esemplari, sottolinea gli elementi metodologici del progetto che puo essere pensato anche per altre situazioni.
