Die Abneigung weiter medizinischer Kreise gegen die histo- logische Technik ist immer noch eine mehr oder weniger groBe und zum Teil auch berechtigte, bringt doch gar oft die "Laune und Tiicke des Objekts" den Untersucher in leise Verzweiflung und gelinde Raserei. Dazu kommt die kaum mehr iibersehbare Zahl der Unter- suchungsmethoden, Farbungen und ihrer zahlreichen Modifika- tionen, die im Laufe der Zeit entstanden sind und noch be- stehen. Trotz der Fiille der Auswahl ist aber die tagliche Arbeit im klinischen Laboratorium, in der Prosektur und im pathologischen Institut gliicklicherweise meist nur auf eine ge- ringe Anzahl von Methoden angewiesen, die vollkommen das leisten, was zu einer exakten Untersuchung und Diagnose notig ist. Aus dieser Erkenntnis sind in dem vorliegenden Werkchen mit bewuBter Absicht nur diejenigen Untersuchungsmethoden und Farbungsarten aufgenommen, die immer und immer wieder unerlaBlich sind und auch nach jeder Richtung hin genii gen.
