This book has been written for God's people whom I love, and to be
loyal and obedient to God. I want it to bring Glory to God (the
Father), Jesus (the Son), our salvation, and the Holy Spirit, our
guide and counselor. I thank God for His Word, which is truth. Ever
Since I was saved, year 1972, God has been using me in all the
gifts that are His to give. I am hoping people will see God's
ministry in a new light. It is not difficult, He has made it easy
and simple through His Word, truth and our obedience. Many times
when I have been given discernment on short notice and I have had
to minister prayer. God will remove all obstacles in the way, only
for just a short time, but long enough for me to be obedient. Many
times I pray for salvation with people and they become a new
creation in Christ Jesus, there is no chance for self to get in
way. So if I pray for their salvation, I pray for healing
afterwards. They are always healed. Praise God As you read the
testimony part of this book, you will see many times this has
happened. God wants us to have the desires of our hearts. I like
short prayer; then I am not getting into something else I should
not be talking about. God knew of the whole thing. Keep it simple
to the point. Praise God I am always faithful to remember to give
God all the glory honor, praise, and thanksgiving for what He has
done. Praise Him I now give all the glory of this book to God.every
thing published is truth. He Cares. I am nothing without God,
Jesus, and Holy Spirit, and their love for me. I have a great love
for them and all people. I want to encourage and comfort all.
The sixth International Symposium on Genetics and Molecular Biology
of Plant Nutriti9n was held in Elsinore, Denmark from August 17-21,
1998 and organised by th RiS0 National Laboratory in the year of
its 40 anniversary. The 98 participants represented 23 countries
and 80 scientific contributions with 43 oral and 37 poster
presentations. The symposium addressed the molecular mechanisms,
physiology and genetic regulation of plant nutrition. The Symposium
brought together scientists from a range of different disciplines
to exchange information and ideas on the molecular biology of
mineral nutrition of plants. The symposium emphasised: * Bridging
the gab between molecular biology, applied genetics, plant
nutrition and plant breeding. * The development of methodologies to
improve the efficiency and effectiveness of nutrition of plants *
Quality of plant products. With sessions on: Nitrogen; Phosphorous;
Micronutrients; Symbiosis; Membranes; Stress; Heavy Metals and
Plant Breeding. In comparison with the previous conferences in this
series more emphasis was placed on use of molecular techniques to
clarify physiological mechanisms and processes, gene expression and
regulation, as well as genetic marker assisted analysis.
Significant of molecular genetic markers and other progress was
reported in exploitation biotechnologies in breeding programmes.
Exploring the controversy surrounding therapeutic human cloning,
this book draws upon data collected from news articles and
interviews with journalists to examine the role of mass media in
shaping biomedical controversies. With specific reference to the US
and the UK as two leading scientific nations grappling with the
global issue of therapeutic cloning, together with attention to the
important role played by nations in Southeast Asia, this book sheds
light on media representations of scientific developments, the
unrealistic hype that can surround them, the influence of religion
and the potentially harmful imposition of journalistic and
nationalist values on the scientific field. Empirically grounded
and theoretically innovative, The Therapeutic Cloning Debate will
appeal to social scientists across a range of disciplines with
interests in science communication, public engagement, cultural and
media studies, science politics, science journalism, the sociology
of expert knowledge and risk. It will also appeal to scientists,
journalists, policymakers and others interested in how news media
frame science for the public.
In Uneasy Possessions: The Mother-Daughter Dilemma in French
Women's Writings, 1671-1928, Katharine Ann Jensen analyzes the work
of five major French women writers, discovering a four-century
pattern of mother-daughter relationships marked by domination,
submission, and conflict. This groundbreaking study explores work
of Marie-Madeleine de Lafayette, Marie de Sevigne, Elisabeth Vigee
Lebrun, George Sand, and Colette, providing a new reading of
women's history and offering a new understanding of female
psychology. Jensen argues that conflict between the mothers and
daughters depicted in these texts was the result of two
contradictory ideologies. In order to pass proper feminine behavior
on to their daughters, mothers were encouraged to construe
daughters as part of themselves, even as daughters were expected to
adopt their mothers' wishes as their own. At the same time, a
developing individualism created a conflict between the daughter's
desire for autonomy and her mother's wish to be recognized for
having raised a perfect daughter-alter ego. Despite vast changes in
social organization in France over the four centuries of this
study, the mother-daughter ideology remained effectively the same.
To keep their daughters virgins, mothers were expected to form
their daughters in their own image-as a mirror reflection.
Mother-daughter reflectivity extended even into the marriage bed,
as daughters were taught to remain faithful and to submit to (male)
authority throughout their lives. Thus, the daughter's sexuality
was channeled into producing legitimate offspring while the
mother's ambition was confined to working on her daughter, rather
than focused on creating cultural works that might compete with
men's. Mothers were rewarded with the narcissistic satisfaction of
viewing their filial creations as a socially sanctioned work of
art: daughters thus functioned as possessions.

A PUBLISHERS WEEKLY BESTSELLER Motherhood is hard. In a world of
five-step lists and silver-bullet solutions to become perfect
parents, mothers are burdened with mixed messages about who they
are and what choices they should make. If you feel pulled between
high-fives and hard words, with culture's solutions only raising
more questions, you're not alone. But there is hope. You might
think that Scripture doesn't have much to say about the food you
make for breakfast, how you view your postpartum body, or what
school choice you make for your children, but a deeper look reveals
that the Bible provides the framework for finding answers to your
specific questions about modern motherhood. Emily Jensen and Laura
Wifler help you understand and apply the gospel to common issues
moms face so you can connect your Sunday morning faith to the
Monday morning tantrum. Discover how closely the gospel connects
with today's motherhood. Join Emily and Laura as they walk through
the redemptive story and reveal how the gospel applies to your

Volume 29 features articles on Anton Reiser; the legacies of German
romanticism; Goethe's morphology and computational analysis; Goethe
commemorations in Argentina; and Goethe's Weltliteratur in the
context of trade with China, along with two special sections and
the book review. Volume 29 features articles on Anton Reiser; the
legacies and myths of German romanticism; Goethe's morphology as
antecedent to computational analysis; on Goethe commemorations in
Argentina; and a reconsideration of Goethe's Weltliteratur in the
context of Handelsverkehr (trade) with China. Additionally, volume
29 features two special sections. The first commemorates an
anniversary, Hoelderlin's 250th birthday, with work devoted to
"Reading and Exhibiting," compiled by Meike Werner. The other
special section, on movement and edited by Heidi Schlipphacke,
further explores research featured at MLA 2021 and revisits many
questions of sentimentalism, visuality, and narration that are at
the core of canon formation and eighteenth-century thresholds of
modernity. As always, the book review section, edited by Sean
Franzel, concludes the volume.
This book gives an introduction to the discrete wavelet transform and some of its applications. It is based on a novel approach to discrete wavelets called lifting. The first part is a completely elementary introduction to the subject, and the prerequisites for this part are knowledge of basic calculus and linear algebra. The second part requires some knowledge of Fourier series and digital signal analysis. The connections between lifting and filter theory are presented and the wavelet packet transforms are defined. The time-frequency plane is used for interpretation of signals. The problems with finite length signals are treated in detail. MATLAB is used as the computational environment for examples and implementation of transforms. The book is well suited for undergraduate mathematics and electrical engineering students and engineers in industry.
On December 31, 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) was
informed of a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan City, Hubei
Province of China. Illnesses have since been linked to a disease
caused by a previously unidentified strain of coronavirus,
designated Coronavirus Disease 2019, or COVID-19. The disease has
spread to other countries, including the United States. On March
11, the WHO announced that the outbreak was officially a pandemic,
the highest level of health emergency and has led to tens of
thousands of cases and thousands of deaths worldwide. This book
discusses a wide variety of topics related to the outbreak
including: selected actions taken by the U.S. federal government to
quell the introduction and spread of COVID-19 in the United States,
economic implications and government assistance.

This monograph will assess the effects of operational deployments
on Army Reserve Component attrition rate and its strategic
implications for the U.S. Army. It will challenge the belief that
the current use of the Army Reserve Component in peace time
operational deployments is having a negative effect on its
attrition rate. Following the end of Operation Desert Shield/Desert
Storm the United States' military began a dramatic down sizing of
its active and reserve forces. By the end of 1993, the U.S. Army
had been reduced from its late 1980s size of eighteen combat
divisions to only ten combat divisions. As the draw down of
military forces continued the number of operational deployments
increased for the active Army. Haiti, Somalia, Bosnia, and Kosovo
were added to the active Army's already crowded plate that included
the Multinational Force and Observes in the Sinai Peninsula and
Operation Southern Watch in Southwest Asia. It became apparent that
the active Army required assistance with these additional missions
or risk a degradation of its unit readiness and morale. As a result
of this dilemma, the decision was made to activate units and
personnel of the Army National Guard and Army Reserve to support
on-going deployments. This monograph reviews the findings of four
studies conducted to determine the effects of operational
deployments on the U.S. military. In addition, the attrition rate
for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is reviewed, to
include high demand units, in order to determine linkages between
the increased use of the reserve component and corresponding
attrition. The conclusion of the monograph is that peace time
operational deployments are not having a negative effect on the
attrition rate of the Army National Guard and Army Reserve.
Supporting this conclusion is the consistent decrease in the Army
National Guard's attrition rate during the period 1993-2000 and the
fairly steady attrition rate of the Army Reserve during the same
period. Recomme

The "meanest man in California" as described by John Bidwell
receives his chance at redemption thanks to this reprint of John
Marsh, Pioneer by George Lyman as originally published in 1930.
Here we discover an 18th Century Massachusetts native, born of
English immigrants moving west with the nation. Marsh is a colorful
man influencing people and events throughout his life and location.
The first overland emigrants from the United States, the
Bartleson-Bidwell Party, came to California specifically with
Marsh's adobe home destination in mind. "The meanest man in
California" stuck to Marsh's reputation. Marsh died unheralded;
Bidwell lived. Marsh is a colorful man influencing people and
events throughout his life and location. Here is a man who knew
Abraham Lincoln when the future president was a soldier in the
Black Hawk War. "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los
Angeles" might not have become the Los Angles we know today had
"Doctor" John Marsh not provided small pox immunizations. John
Fremont and Kit Carson were guests at his Rancho Los Meganos. Marsh
was well established in California seven years before Captain John
Sutter became lost in the Delta tule bull rushes as he sailed to
present day Sacramento. Mountain men, scouts, and members of the
ill-fated Donner Party were known to him from Illinois and
Wisconsin days. The list of coincidence and "67-degrees of
separation" connecting John Marsh with historic figures and places
in United States history is surprising. Historians, book lovers,
California Emigrant Trail enthusiasts, and those seeking a
real-life adventure story will enjoy this biography. The true-life
exploits of Dr. John Marsh are as absorbing as legendary bandits
Joaquin Murrieta and Three-finger Jack, or the fictionalized Don
Diego de la Vega as Senor Zorro. Modern reprint in facsimile of
John Marsh, Pioneer: The Life Story of a Trail-blazer on Six
Frontiers by George D. Lyman as originally published in 1930.
Paperback, Glossy Color Cover, Black & White text, Cream 55 lb.

God Never Quits What do you do when life tumbles in-when all that
you've counted on is stripped away and you ask, "Why, God . . . why
me?" After almost forty years of pastoral ministry, Dr. Jensen was
charged with a crime he didn't commit. After two trials,
conviction, prison, and probation, he lost almost everything that
he had counted on: wealth, friends, reputation, credentials, etc.
It appeared his ministry was over. During this time Paul's letter
to the Philippians became an outline for his own experience, and
what God has taught him. Most importantly, the theme, God Never
Quits-"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to
completion" is really a challenge to each of us, especially as we
go through some dark times.Coming from most people, "God never
quits" might sound hollow-but not from Vern. He has endured things
that would crush most people, and he has come out on the other side
with a faith that has actually gotten stronger. We all go through
hard times and when we do, most of us tend to wonder, "Why me?" We
ask why God is letting us hurt in this way, or why He seems so far
away. As you read Vern's story, it becomes clear very quickly that
he is not like most people. Faced with hard times, Vern very
quickly shifts his thoughts from "why me" to "Lord, what are you
trying to teach me?" This book isn't just an account of what
happened in Vern's life: it is a reminder of what God can do
through each of us if we let him. Greg Surratt, Senior Pastor,
Seacoast Church (from the foreword)Dr. Jensen is a pastor on the
staff of Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC, a church that serves
more than 15,000 people in multiple campuses. He oversees the
support and prayer ministries, and counsels people in crisis. His
previous book, Unlimited Power, is a devotional guide into a
power-filled life. He is married to Migsie, and they have seven
children, twenty grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
