Vows of Three Sisters (Hardcover): C. Dean A. Papas Vows of Three Sisters (Hardcover)
C. Dean A. Papas
R516 Discovery Miles 5 160 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

Barbara is a physician and pianist. Margo is a brilliant mathematician and cellist. Lucia is a philosopher, nun, and violinist. These amateur but talented and accomplished musicians have met to celebrate the silver jubilee of their Vows. This year the plan was to play, in its entirety, the music that brought them together and made them sisters in heart and mind for life: Tchaikovsky's Trio in A minor for Violin, Cello, and Piano; and they played it as never before Barbara and Margo had never heard Lucia play as she did this time. passion, but after the performance, Lucia confesses to being found in a situation unbecoming to a nun. She is pregnant Though she denies having been with a man, the facts confirm that her vows as a nun were violated and that she may have lied. Bound by the promise of trust, faith, and truth the three shared, Barbara and Margo had believed Lucia. Now they must ask themselves if their faith was unwarranted. Or could Lucia be telling the truth?

Murder by Suicide (Hardcover): Dean A. Papas C. Dean a. Papas Murder by Suicide (Hardcover)
Dean A. Papas C. Dean a. Papas
R592 Discovery Miles 5 920 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

Dawn, a beauti ful 37-year-old brunette, recently divorced, was found dead in her apartment from a gunshot wound to the chest. There was a suicide note by the body and a handgun by the right hand. The police, based upon certain observati ons, believe that Dawn may not have committ ed suicide, that she might have been murdered. To complicate matters further, the autopsy results showed that Dawn was four weeks pregnant which completely surprised her best and only friend, Veronica

Captain Lukas and Lt. Flannigan fight an uphill battle to prove that it was indeed murder and not suicide. It would be easier to prove their theory if they could just identify the murderer. Then, by using all resources available to them, they discover the identity of the father of the child Dawn was carrying. This important discovery could potentially lead them to the murderer. Is the baby's father also Dawn's murderer? If not, who could be responsible for this horrible crime?

Multi-Objective Optimization in Physical Synthesis of Integrated Circuits (Hardcover, 2012 ed.): David A. Papa, Igor L Markov Multi-Objective Optimization in Physical Synthesis of Integrated Circuits (Hardcover, 2012 ed.)
David A. Papa, Igor L Markov
R2,783 Discovery Miles 27 830 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

This book introduces techniques that advance the capabilities and strength of modern software tools for physical synthesis, with the ultimate goal to improve the quality of leading-edge semiconductor products. It provides a comprehensive introduction to physical synthesis and takes the reader methodically from first principles through state-of-the-art optimizations used in cutting edge industrial tools. It explains how tointegrate chip optimizations in novel ways to create powerful circuit transformations that help satisfy performance requirements."

Diffraction 2002, International Workshop on Diffraction in High-Energy Physics and NATO Advanced Research Workshop, was held in Alushta (Crimea, Ukraine) from August 31 to September 5, 2002, in a beautiful resort "Dubna" near the Black Sea. The Workshop was the second of the series "Diffraction" started two years earlier in Cetraro, Italy. The Workshop was organized by an International Committee including the organizers of Diffraction 2000 coming from Universita della Calabria (Italy) and "local" organizers from Dubna, Kiev and Novosibirsk research institutions. There were 46 participants, coming from 14 countries. The purpose of the Workshop was to review the experimental and theo- retical aspects of Diffraction in high-energy physics and to discuss the new developments. There were talks devoted to Diffraction in hadron-hadron collisions, in lepton-hadron collisions and in Quantum Chromodynamics. This volume contains the written version of 29 talks, that arrived before the deadline and ordered, somewhat arbitrarily, as experimental, phenomeno- logical and theoretical ones. We thank all the speakers and attendees for their contribution to the scientific success of the Workshop. The Secretariat of the Workshop was admirably held by AlIa Borisenko, Tania Korzhinskay, Elena Rusakovich, Olga Ugrumova and Zoya Vakhnenko, whom we thank for their invaluable assistance. We also thank the stuff of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Physics and in particular Prof. P.N. Bogolyubov for his professional performance in orga- nizing and managing the computer service. The invaluable financial support of NATO, grant ARW 977335, is grate- fully acknowledged.
