This book offers a timely review of wave energy and its conversion
mechanisms. Written having in mind current needs of advanced
undergraduates engineering students, it covers the whole process of
energy generation, from waves to electricity, in a systematic and
comprehensive manner. Upon a general introduction to the field of
wave energy, it presents analytical calculation methods for
estimating wave energy potential in any given location. Further, it
covers power-take off (PTOs), describing their mechanical and
electrical aspects in detail, and control systems and algorithms.
The book includes chapters written by active researchers with vast
experience in their respective filed of specialization. It combines
basic aspects with cutting-edge research and methods, and selected
case studies. The book offers systematic and practice-oriented
knowledge to students, researchers, and professionals in the wave
energy sector. Chapters 17 of this book is available open access
under a CC BY 4.0 license at link.springer.com

The present work deals with variability, correlation,
path-coefficient and selection index for eleven quantitative
characters in chickpea. Variability of the studied characters
exhibited that they were quantitative in nature and under polygenic
control. For all the characters phenotypic variation was greater
than those of environmental components of variation. Phenotypic
coefficients of variability (PCV) in general were higher than the
estimates of genotypic coefficient of variability (GCV) for all the
characters, which suggested that the apparent variation is not only
due to the genotypes but also due to the influence of environment.
The heritability, genetic advance (GA) and genetic advance as
percentage of mean (GA %) estimates in the present investigation
were found to be low which indicates that the scope for improving
traits through selection is limited. SW/P was positively correlated
with DMF, NPBMF, NSBMF, PWFD, PdW/P, and NS/P both at phenotypic
and genotypic levels. Path coefficient analyses indicated that
PdW/P and NS/P having high positive direct effect on yield were the
major contributors to SW/P.

To be a better person tomorrow than what you are today, you have to
achieve goals and attain success. The basis to the success is the
thought of "Yes I Can." If you want to kick the 't' out of can't
from your life and turn it on with the expression 'Yes I Can', this
is the book for you. Through this book you will understand how to
fuel the passion of success within yourself, which is nothing but a
strong "Yes I Can." There are eight principles and elements that
are fuel for your 'Yes I Can' passion - Know Yourself, Crush the
Enemy Called Fear, Nothing is impossible, Think Big and Innovative,
There Is Always a Choice, 'Never Give Up' Approach, Game without
Ball and Disability is Lack of an Ability. You will find yourself
accepting more challenges in life and achieving your dreams, after
reading this book. Let's start the journey towards success.
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) combines the advantages of providing
fast means of internet access with the usage of an existent
infrastructure known as the Plain Old Telephone Services (POTS).
Transmissions that are use higher frequencies are more subject to
attenuation and to crosstalk. Crosstalk is the undesired radiation
of energy among wires. It is more likely to occur among/between
similar frequencies and results in received signal that differs
from the original signal form that was sent. In other words,
crosstalk is a disturbance caused by the electric or magnetic
fields of one telecommunication signal affecting a signal in an
adjacent circuit. This book consists an analysis of crosstalk in
various DSL.
Turbomachinery design and optimization using numerical technique
has been presented in this book. Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes
(RANS) equation based solution approach has been explained to
design the system. Single as well as multi-objective optimization
techniques are presented along with the analysis of flow field.
Several surrogate based optimization techniques including a
weighted average method was used for optimization. The
Turbomachinery designers trying to enhance the system performance
can follow the procedure explained in this book. In short, the
books can be helpful for the Turbomachinery designers and
academicians. This book may also be of general interest of
designers and researchers who want CFD simulation of any system via
RANS and want to apply systematic approach for optimization.
This book presents development of efficient reinforcement learning
methods in a postgraduate research. A reinforcement learning agent
tries every state-action pair to find the optimal policy without
prior knowledge about the domain. In large domains visiting every
state-action pair is not feasible by an agent, therefore standard
reinforcement learning approach is not applicable in solving many
real world problems. Three new methods are proposed to make the
learning efficient according to the characteristics of the
problems: Task-Oriented Reinforcement Learning reduces the problem
size by viewing it from the task's viewpoint that clarifies task
relevant state variables. Symmetrical-Actions Reinforcement Leaning
reduces the size of a learning problem by exploiting partial
symmetry over action relevant state variables and representing
actions values by a single function. Coordinated Multiagent
Reinforcement Learning technique uses coordinator-agent hierarchy
to keep the size of individual learning problems small. Depending
on problem characteristics all or any of these methods can be
applied to solve a problem efficiently using reinforcement
learning.
