Six magical sisters clean the carpets in their big house by flying
them joyfully around the town. Seeing this, the Prince of the
province demands that the sisters teach him how to fly the carpets,
but even though each sister teaches him a different way to fly
them, the Prince never learns. He takes all the carpets to his
palace, leaving the sisters with nothing but old blankets and bath
mats, which the sisters fly with equal joy.

"Molly was a skier. She skied the blues and blacks. She'd wake up
early every day to lay down some fresh tracks." So begins "Molly
Rides," a simple story of a young girl who takes on a new challenge
and through patience and hard work discovers that she can have fun
in the snow, regardless of what's on her feet. With lyrical rhyming
meter, AASI Certified Snowboard Instructor Adam Ford spins a story
that he's very familiar withlearning how to snowboardand through it
emphasizes both the work of mastering a new skill and the pure joy
of snow sports. Award-winning illustrator Brian Berley brings the
engaging text to life with eye-popping illustrations of Molly and
her dog Bacon that evoke the history of skiing with a thoroughly
modern touch.

A tale of two spelling-bee-winner-type kids and how they overcome
vocabularily challenged mean kids. In their alter-egos, Jam-Bo and
Litta-Girl, James and Liza realize that the bullies are no match
for kids who are funny, brave, smart, heroic, decent, clever,
capable, gallant, marvelous, noteworthy, and unparalleled. The
cleverness builds as each page adds positive descriptors with more
and more letters. With multicultural characters, wonderful
vocabulary development, a few grammar lessons, rhyme and meter, and
the use of a bright, graphic approach that grabs and keeps your
attention, the book clearly demonstrates how kids can unleash the
greatest superpower they have-their minds.
