Digital Ultraviolet and Infrared Photography discusses the growing number of applications of ultraviolet and infrared photography. Scientific and technical photographers, such as those engaged in scientific, medical, forensic, and landscape and wildlife photography routinely use ultraviolet and infrared techniques, and these techniques are growing in use in creative photography. This is the first book to address the application and potential for both ultraviolet and infrared photography in both science and art. The author, Adrian Davies, discusses the how-to of ultraviolet and infrared digital recording with a dissection of techniques, camera requirements and camera conversion, a useful appendix of resources and equipment currently available and inspirational image examples throughout. Digital Ultraviolet and Infrared Photography is an essential read for photographers using these tools either professionally or creatively.

The structure of corporate governance has made significant progress in OECD countries but it remains imperfectly linked to the activities of many businesses. Its advance on the global stage will be hesitant and slow until its practice in OECD countries is more consistent and convincing. Many can be avoided or mitigated through improved cybersecurity awareness, behaviour and culture change (ABCs). This book guides organisations looking to create an enhanced security culture through improved understanding and practice of cybersecurity at an individual level. Key awareness, behaviour and culture concepts are covered from the ground up, alongside practical tips and examples.

Confessing Christ at the age of fifteen and called to ministry by the age of nineteen, by the age of twenty-four Pastor A.D. had led hundreds of souls to Christ and ministered to youth across the country. TEARS DOWN A SMILING FACE tells his story of loss, despair and redemption by the he God pledged to serve yet struggled to know. Rocked by catastrophe, disaster and misfortune Pastor A.D. barreled alone down a dark path. For the first time of its invention, photography has been used to visualize events that are either too fast or too slow for the eye to perceive, or subjects that are outside the spectral range of the human eye. This book shows how you can photograph a range of subjects and see the world as never before. Written with clear and accessible text, it explores and suggests techniques that expose new images in new ways, and pushes the boundaries of the photographer's creative potential. Techniques include: ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) photography; high speed and time-lapse photography; close-up, macro and photography with the aid of a microscope and finally, photography using polarized light. Most of the techniques are accessible to all photographers using readily available equipment (UV and IR will require some specialist items), and have been relatively unexplored so give the adventurous photographer great potential to experiment and produce unique images.
Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Allgemeine Psychologie, Note: -, -, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Understanding Research is a key to understanding psychology which in a way opens access to the psychologist to help individuals with difficulties or suggests a new phenomenon to upgrade the way we handled things such us studying, parenting or even starting a new business. Whatever methods psychologists use, sooner or later they find it necessary to make statements about amounts or qualities (Hilgard, Atkinson and Atkinson, 1975). Psychology researchers study a wide variety of topics, ranging from the development of infants to the behavior of social groups. Psychologists use the scientific method to investigate questions both systematically and empirically. This scientific method can be divided into two major categories that usually occur in sequence: forming an idea and then testing it. The study of research methods is a prerequisite to recognition as a licensed psychologist in most countries, moreover, research methods and statistics help one to accurately formulate a theory and follow through with the appropriate investigation and inquiry. This text is written in an attempt to discuss how these researches are initiated, conducted and publicized. I would like to thank the Atlantic International University for the opportunities of a life time to investigate this course learn from it and being able to write this essay.
The early Quakers denounced the clergy and social élite but what of Friends' relationships with others? By examining Quaker attitudes to neighbourliness, the family, the rites of passage, business, and other links, this lively and original study demonstrates that Quakers were not the marginal and isolated people often portrayed by contemporaries and historians, and explores their wider and significant impact upon early modern society.
An earlier book, A Strategic Approach to Corporate Governance (Gower, 1999), examined corporate governance from a philosophical and 'big picture' standpoint. This book digs deeper and explores the operational issues around corporate governance, giving examples of good practice. It is a 'how to' book, which focuses on processes and practical issues, making the case for corporate governance in terms of measurable business benefits and competitive advantage. The author explores a number of key themes: c How corporate governance has expanded in scope and importance worldwide. c How to engage with the wider range of stakeholders whose support is essential for success in a competitive world. c How to distribute power to those who need to use it to perform effectively at all levels in the organisation. c How to encourage the behaviours needed to effect good governance. c How to embed best practice in the daily routine of the organisation. c How to adapt best practice to meet the needs of different organisations. c How effective corporate governance can build sustainable business success. c How corporate governance may evolve to meet the needs of the future. Corporate governance should address the needs of people seeking to cooperate effectively in a shared endeavour. It should be adopted, not imposed and Adrian Davies provides an eloquent and authoritative guide to this process.
