Esto libro que se titula "La Arquitectura Moderna en Recife en los Anos 50" tiene como objetivo, comprobar la existencia de una "Escuela de Recife" en el escenario brasileno, caracterizada por la busqueda en adaptar el vocabulario moderno a la realidad tropical, con aspectos culturales, sociales, economicos, y principalmente, climaticos, muy especificos, que necesitaban ser considerados, para la adopcion de una arquitectura moderna en la region del nordeste brasileno, aclarando sobre el papel desarrollado por los arquitectos Russo, Borsoi, Amorim y H. M. Neto en la formacion de esta "Escuela," analizando sus contribuciones o aportaciones para tal proceso, como profesores del curso de arquitectura en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Pernambuco/ EBAP y como, profesionales actuando en la elaboracion y ejecucion de proyectos. Concluyendo finalmente, sobre las soluciones proyectuales y constructivas empleadas en aquellos anos por estos profesionales, que vienen hasta la actualidad, contribuyendo para la mejoria de una arquitectura sostenible en la region, y constatando que la arquitectura moderna tuvo una preocupacion con el "lugar," diferentemente de lo que la critica difundio."

Afonso de Albuquerque (1453 1515) was a Portuguese naval officer and nobleman whose successful military campaigns helped establish Portugal's colonies in India. Volume 2 contains an account of his imprisonment in 1509 as a result of political rivalries, and his first conquest of Goa in February 1510.
