This book explores the fundamentals and applications of Blockchain
technology. Readers will learn about the decentralized peer-to-peer
network, distributed ledger, and the trust model that defines
Blockchain technology. They will also be introduced to the basic
components of Blockchain (transaction, block, block header, and the
chain), its operations (hashing, verification, validation, and
consensus model), underlying algorithms, and essentials of trust
(hard fork and soft fork). Private and public Blockchain networks
similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum will be introduced, as will
concepts of Smart Contracts, Proof of Work and Proof of Stack.
Blockchain is an emerging technology that can radically improve
transaction security at banking, supply chain, and other
transaction networks. It’s estimated that Blockchain will
generate $3.1 trillion in new business value by 2030. Essentially,
it provides the basis for a dynamic distributed ledger that can be
applied to save time when recording transactions between parties,
remove costs associated with intermediaries, and reduce risks of
fraud and tampering.
This book introduces the Internet of Things (IoT), which is the
convergence of connecting people, things, data and processes; it is
transforming our life, business and everything in between. By 2025,
experts forecast that up to 75 billion devices will be connected to
the Internet with only one third of them being computers,
smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. The remaining two thirds
will be other "devices" – sensors, terminals, household
appliances, thermostats, televisions, automobiles, production
machinery, urban infrastructure and many other "things", which
traditionally have not been Internet enabled. This "Internet of
Things" (IoT) represents a remarkable transformation of the way in
which our world will soon interact. Much like the World Wide Web
connected computers to networks, and the next evolution mobile
devices connected people to the Internet and other people, IoT
looks poised to interconnect devices, people, environments, virtual
objects and machines in ways that only science fiction writers
could have imagined.
This book explores quantum computing as a transformative technology
and its applications in cryptography, teleportation, IoT, AI, and
Blockchain, and the futurist concept of quantum internet. It
explains the fundamentals of quantum computing and how it’s
different from classic computing, also the challenges facing
quantum computing will be discussed, in addition to types of
quantum computing, will be introduced and explained. The concept
and types of Qubit and its implications on quantum computing
applications will be explained.
This book explores quantum computing as a transformative technology
and its applications in communications, cryptography,
teleportation, IoT, AI, and blockchain, in addition to the
revolutionary concept of quantum internet. It also explains the
concept of dark, small, thick data, and clarifies what the concept
of a data lake. Other exciting technologies like edge/fog
computing, CDN, SDN, wearable technology and IoE topics are
discussed in details in the book. Information security applications
like zero trust model, zero-day vulnerability and heuristic
analysis, and use of AI in cybersecurity are explored. Two of the
most intriguing concepts in computing "affective computing" and
"autonomic computing" are explained and simplified. The blockchain
applications presented include blockchain and supply chain,
crowdsourcing, cryptocurrency, and IoT. The book ends with a look
at using technology to fight COVID-19 and future pandemics.
By 2020, experts forecast that up to 28 billion devices will be
connected to the Internet, with only one third of them being
computers, smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. The remaining
two thirds will be other "devices" - sensors, terminals, household
appliances, thermostats, televisions, automobiles, production
machinery, urban infrastructure and many other "things", which
traditionally have not been Internet enabled. This "Internet of

which our world will soon interact. Much like the World Wide Web
connected computers to networks, and the next evolution mobile
devices connected people to the Internet and other people, IoT
looks poised to interconnect devices, people, environments, virtual
objects and machines in ways that only science fiction writers
could have imagined. In a nutshell the Internet of Things (IoT) is
the convergence of connecting people, things, data and processes;
it is transforming our life, business and everything in between.
Secure and Smart IoT explores many aspects of the Internet of
Things and explains many of the complicated principles of IoT and
the new advancements in IoT including using Fog Computing, AI and
Blockchain technology. The topics discussed in the book include: -
Internet of Things (IoT) - Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) -
Fog Computing - Artificial Intelligence - Blockchain Technology -
Network Security - Zero-Trust Model - Data Analytics - Digital
Transformation - DDoS - Smart Devices - Cybersecurity
Blockchain is an emerging technology that can radically improve
