Steven Denver is a writer struggling to find a plot for his next
novel, the success of which - or lack of - will mean the
continuance or the demise of his career. But when he stumbles upon
a strange green whirlpool near his home, he discovers that it is a
gateway through space and time. Exploring the Gatespace beyond
leads him into worlds unknown and adventures that defy the
imagination, perfect fuel for the creativity of an author... But
there's just one complication... will he ever make it home to write
that book? PINBALL is an exciting science fantasy roller coaster
ride through space and time to strange, far-off worlds. "This story
hooked me right from the beginning. Had me leaning forward and then
sitting up straight at points, wanting to tell the main character
not to do some of the things he attempted. A great roller coaster
ride, and aptly titled. Some great spins on alternate realities,
and the juggling of both time and reality. You will feel like a
pinball long before this story ends, and enjoy every minute of it "
- Terry Schott, author of "The Game"
Rick Harper is part of a research team that stumbles upon the
secret of the mysterious Gatespace first seen in PINBALL. When he
is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, he decides to attempt
using the technology to influence his own past and try to add years
to the time he has to spend with his beloved Stefanie -- with
disastrous results. Journeying through the Gatespace to the year
2000, when Stefanie was a senior at Berkeley, Rick encounters a
number of challenges that may prevent either one of them from
making it home again.
