Safety of RMAA works is an almost uncharted topic of rising
importance internationally. Small construction contractors are
particularly dependant on RMAA work, especially during times of
recession, and they undertake more risks on these jobs than large
companies do. This book is based on unique international research
and consultancy projects which detail, investigate, and suggest
solutions to the specific challenges of safety in RMAA works, based
on case studies. Starting with an overview of safety in the wider
construction industries of developed countries, the first half of
this book also provides a comprehensive summary of relevant rules,
regulations, and the resulting safety performances. The systems in
the UK, US and Hong Kong are described and contrasted, giving the
reader an understanding of how different regulatory approaches have
yielded a variety of results. From this solid introduction,
specific problems observed in RMAA work are examined through case
studies, with reference to the underlying cultural and demographic
factors, and a variety of practical engineering and management
solutions are explored. This important and practical international
work is essential reading for postgraduate students of health and
safety in construction, construction project management, or
construction in developing countries, as well as policy-makers and
construction project managers.

The Jesuit Archives in Rome (Archium Romanum Societatus Iesu)
contains books and manuscripts from the Ming (1369-1644) and Ching
(1644-1911) dynasties on Chinese history, Chinese and Western
philosophy, astronomy and other sciences; volumes by Westerners
introducing Christian thought to the Chinese; and works by Chinese
Christians comparing what they were taught by the Jesuits with the
Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian traditions. Many works deal with
the famous Chinese rites controversy. There are also volumes that
treat other religious groups such as the Muslims and the Jews. The
archive has a collection of some of the first Chinese-Western
dictionaries. Some of the works include marginal annotations by the
emperors of China, famous Chinese scholars, and Jesuit missionaries
and much, much more. This catalogue consists of careful
descriptions of all these archival items with bibliographical
sources pertaining to them. English is the main language, but
Latin, other European languages, and Chinese (with characters) are
also abundant.
This book presents up-to-date information on promising indications
for ultrasound in contemporary periodontics and implant therapy
with the aim of assisting researchers and dental practitioners to
use this novel imaging modality to advance research and patient
care. Readers will find clear guidance on the application of
ultrasound for evaluation of periodontal and peri-implant tissues.
The mechanism of ultrasound imaging is explained in detail and
compared to other imaging modalities. Furthermore, the role of
ultrasound in the planning and execution of implant surgery and the
assessment of implant stability is discussed. The book closes by
considering the potential dental applications of functional
ultrasound and volumetric ultrasound. This book will potentially be
of high values for dental surgeons, periodontists, general
dentists, orthodontists, dental hygienists, dental assistants,
dental researchers and other practitioners, etc.
