Diese Bewusstseinsbeschranktheit zwingt den Kafka'schen Menschen unvermeidlich in ein entfremdetes Dasein. Kafka war nicht geistig isoliert, die ihm vorhergegangenen Geistesstromungen beeinflussten ihn. Zunachst sollen mogliche Einflusse von Philosophen wie Schopenhauer und Kierkegaard, die in unmittelbarer Beziehung zu Kafkas thematisierter Problematik stehen, aufgespurt werden. Auch Kafka hatte in geistesgeschichtlicher Hinsicht einen bemerkenswerten Einfluss auf die ihm nachfolgenden philosophischen Denkrichtungen wie z.B. die Existenzphilosophie.
