Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich VWL - Umweltokonomie, Note: 1,3, Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg, Veranstaltung: International Business Studies, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Umweltmanagementaktivitaten von deutschen und amerikanischen Konzernen innerhalb einer Branche und geht dabei der Frage nach, ob sich das Umweltmanagement deutscher Unternehmen in seinen Massnahmen und seiner Ausgestaltung signifikant von dem der amerikanischen Unternehmen unterscheidet. Um dieser Fragestellung nachgehen zu konnen, sollen zunachst zentrale Begriffe definiert werden, um zu verstehen, was okologische Nachhaltigkeit," Umwelt" und Umweltmanagement" im Rahmen dieser Arbeit bedeutet. Das dritte Kapitel betrachtet Umweltmanagement im Unternehmen, beleuchtet unternehmerische Motive fur betriebliches Umweltmanagement und geht anschliessend darauf ein, wie es in die Unternehmensstrukturen integriert und umgesetzt wird. Der eigentliche Vergleich von deutschen und amerikanischen Unternehmen ist Gegenstand des vierten Kapitels und stellt das zentrale Element dieser Arbeit dar. Dabei werden die Umweltmanagementaktivitaten verschiedener Unternehmen aus drei ausgewahlten Branchen analysiert. Auf die genaue Vorgehensweise soll jedoch erst im vierten Kapitel eingegangen werden.
