They’re back. The world’s ultimate musical duo, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe.
After decorated careers in theatre and opera, they have now sold over 1 million albums in the UK, received two Classic Brit Awards and sold out two headline arena tours.
The intimate and uplifting memoir from one of Britain's most loved
singers - this is Alfie, off stage. Bringing his characteristic
sense of cheeky humour to the page, in this heartfelt book Alfie
describes for the first time the highs and lows of over a decade
singing and performing across the world. From personal dinners with
Queen Elizabeth II and following in the steps of King of Rock 'n'
Roll Elvis in Vegas to mischievous antics with Michael Ball,
Alfie's book takes us backstage to witness his brilliant career
memories. But this book is also a heartfelt insight to Alfie's
unmasked truth for the first time ever. His unflinching honesty
reveals not only the success stories, but also the pressures and
how, through challenging times, he learned more about himself than
he ever thought possible. Laying bare the events that have shaped
Alfie into the performer he is today, Face the Music demonstrates
to us all that it's not our mistakes that define us - but instead,
how we choose to come back from them.
Documentary about Victor Hugo's classic nineteenth-century story
and its subsequent adaptations to stage and screen. The novel
follows the journey of French ex-convict Jean Valjean who atones
for his sins by becoming an upstanding member of society. In the
1980s it was adapted into a stage musical, produced by Cameron
Mackintosh, in which Alfie Boe later played the lead role. Tom
Hooper directed the 2012 film version which stars Hugh Jackman as
Valjean. The programme features input from cast and crew of both
productions, including Mackintosh, Boe, Hooper and Jackman, as well
as Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Frances Ruffelle, as they
discuss how the story has continued to captivate audiences over so
many years.
For their fifth studio album together, Michael & Alfie take us to The Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. They are ‘Together In Vegas’. Armed with all the charisma and panache needed for such an excursion, together with suitably dazzling vocal skills, the couple present the most exciting music they have ever recorded together.
On ‘Together In Vegas’ the beloved duo bring us classic Rat Pack numbers such as ‘Luck Be A Lady’ (Frank Sinatra) and ‘Sway’ (Dean Martin) as well as showstoppers ‘Viva Las Vegas’ (Elvis Presley), ‘A Man Without Love’ (Engelbert Humperdinck) ‘The Gambler’ (Kenny Rogers), and many more, all delivered with the pizzazz and personality synonymous with these two performers, which has consistently proved irresistible to countless fans across the nation.
