John Ford's adaptation of John Steinbeck's classic novel follows the traumatic journey made by the Joads, a dispossesed Oklahoma family who head towards California to begin a new life. When Tom Joad (Henry Fonda) returns home after being released from prison, he discovers the farmlands have been destroyed by dust storms. Seeking a better future, he leaves with his mother (Jane Darwell) and the rest of the family for California. Their journey is far from easy, however, and there is no guarantee the 'promised land' will provide the life they are hoping for.

Director Fritz Lang's political thriller follows a British hunter's attempts to outrun Nazi agents after he targets Adolf Hitler. While on holiday in Bavaria, willdlife hunter Alan Thorndike (Walter Pidgeon) stumbles upon the Fuhrer's country retreat, eventually spotting Hitler in the gardens. After lining up the leader in the crosshairs of his empty rifle, Thorndike is arrested by members of Hitler's Gestapo bodyguard, who try to beat a confession out of him. After eventually escaping and navigating a tortuous route back to Britain, Thorndike is forced to seek help from local seamstress Jerry Stokes (Joan Bennett) when he discovers German agents are hunting him down.

Classic Western starring John Wayne and James Stewart. Big-city lawyer Ransom (Stewart) heads into the Wild West outpost of Shinbone to bring local outlaw Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin) to justice. En route, he is met by a posse led by Valance, who beat him within an inch of his life. Passing cowboy Tom Doniphon (Wayne) rescues Ransom, gets him set up in Shinbone and supports his efforts to be elected sheriff. Meanwhile, he also attempts to teach his clumsy protegé the fundamentals of gunslinging, so that Valance may at last be brought to book.
